Roof Attacked by Chemical Vapors

The lightweight, galvanized steel roof of an industrial facility was being attacked by chemical vapors generated by a near by chemical plant. The galvanizing completely broke down, allowing the steel to rust and corrode.

The building owner was unable to find a material that would:

Protect against chemical attack
Not cause unacceptable loading on the roof
Not require expensive abrasive blasting

The Thortex team provided the desired solution. Corro-Tech GP, requiring only simple hand tool surface preparation, would protect the surface while avoiding the expense, delay, and logistical and environmental problems of abrasive blasting. Corro-Tech GP also met the owner's requirements for minimal loading on the roof.
